Therapy for helpers, perfectionists, pleasers, and caregivers.

Are you stuck in a balancing act?

Maybe you experience the negative side effects of caring for others due to poor boundaries, behaviors, or beliefs.

This could look like an inability to watch your child fail, solving a friend’s problem without being asked, or feeling resentful about being the go-to person at work or at home.

Caring for others is a wonderful thing that can have mental health benefits! But, in order to care for others (and ourselves) well, it's important to take a balanced approach.

FAQs

How can you help me?

Whether it be upbringing, social conditioning, cultural expectations, trauma, or just natural tendencies, some of us live with the inclination to please others with all of our choices.  And I get it, pleasing others feels good! I help clients identify the origins of their beliefs/ behaviors/ patterns. Then we identify your own unique values and how to live a life in alignment with those values, while tolerating the discomfort that may come along with disappointing others. The “right way” to live is different for each individual.

Do you accept my insurance?

I don’t accept insurance. However, I can provide documentation for you to submit directly to your insurance to seek reimbursement. I accept all major credit cards, HSA and FSA cards.

What can I expect?

In our initial session, you can expect a thorough intake and discussion of your goals. Subsequent sessions will be mutually guided, meaning I'll be sure we're never aimless and I expect clients to come to session prepared with content they'd like to explore and work through. I aim to make sessions comfortable and approachable, using layman's terms over clinical speak.

Where do we meet?

I work virtually and am able to see clients throughout the state of North Carolina.

How do I know if we’re a good fit?

If you’re unsure, let’s have a 15-minute call and I’ll be happy to answer any questions. If we determine it’s not a match, I know other great therapists I can recommend!
